About This Project

THE CLIENTS WERE GEOLOGISTS WHO, ON A VISIT TO AUSTRALIA TOGETHER HAD PANNED FOR GOLD AND HAD BROUGHT BACK ENOUGH PURE GOLD TO MAKE THEIR OWN WEDDING RINGS. THEY CAME TO SEE RICHARD ON A RECOMMENDATION FROM A PREVIOUS CUSTOMER AND WERE EXTREMELY EXCITED WHEN HE SUGGESTED CREATING A RANGE OF COLOURED GOLDS IN ORDER TO MAKE THE GOLD THE FOCAL POINT OF THE RINGS.

THE CLIENTS WERE INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS OF MELTING THE GOLD AND CREATING THE INGOTS OF COLOURED GOLD – INCLUDING GREEN GOLD, WHICH WAS A FIRST FOR RICHARD.

THE RESULTING PAIR OF RINGS DIFFER IN THEIR DESIGN, YET ARE BOUND TOGETHER IN THEIR ORIGIN. THE BRIDE’S RING IS MADE FROM 18CT YELLOW GOLD AND IS DESIGNED AS AN OPPOSING SPIRAL TO ECHO -AND FIT SNUGLY WITH – THE SPIRAL OF HER ENGAGEMENT RING; WHILE THE GROOM’S RING IS A PLAIN BAND WITH MATT FINISH TO SHOW THE COLOURED STRIPES OF RED GOLD AND 18CT GREEN GOLD BORDERING A CENTRAL BAND OF PURE GOLD.
